The Tribune Photo Archives is a unique initiative of the Tribune Company, Masterpiece Marketing Group and Image Fortress to bring the amazing photo archives of the Chicago Tribune and The Baltimore Sun to the public for the first time in history. These are the actual photographic prints that have been used in the daily publication of these renowned newspapers for decades.

Reaching back to the beginning of the paper itself, these incredible original photographs span decades of history and chronicle the events, people and places that have shaped the world we live in. Each one of these amazing archive photographs represents a unique moment in time and a rare piece of American and world history!

In 2010, the Tribune Company launched a monumental 2 prong project. First, to digitize the phenomenal archives of the Chicago Tribune and The Baltimore Sun by partnering with Image Fortress, the industry leader in digital archiving for photographic and audio/visual imagery. Second, to make the original archive photographs available to the public through the leading collectible photography dealer, Masterpiece Marketing Group. The culmination of this work is the Tribune Photo Archives.

Each week, thousands of new archive photographs across multiple topics are made available to the public through the Tribune Photo Archives. Exclusively managed by Masterpiece Marketing Group, these prestigous photographs are sold through a variety of markets including the Tribune Photo Archives website, eBay and other collectibles auctions.

The Archives primarily consists of published and unpublished photographic prints and wire photos. The published prints can be identified by the presence of crop marks, column width notations, clippings of the photo and/or caption from the published issue and other indications.

Most of these photographs have not been seen by the public for decades and a large portion of these images have never been seen by the public. These unique photographs make a great gift, or addition to any collection.
